Children’s Books for the Holidays

November 25, 2012

It’s been a while since our last post, life has been so busy…but, when isn’t it? Now, Thanksgiving is over and here come the holidays, all of them. Honestly, I love this time of year, there’s a magic that isn’t here any other time of year. Hope, peace, love, everything…

As I do every Thanksgiving weekend, after we’ve had the big family dinner, catching up and spending time together…I wake with the holiday spirit, thankful. I can’t wait to start putting decorations out, hanging stockings and watching all my favorite Christmas movies (yes, I watched at least three this weekend…don’t judge).

I also pull out all the holiday themed books for Colin. He’s getting older now and so curious to understand what all this means. For us, as Christians, it means the birth of Jesus, Christmas trees, carols, Santa, elves, and everything else.

Tonight we read our first Christmas book together, it talked about the real meaning of Christmas, he listened curious and intrigued. It was a really special moment for our family. He’s really starting to be in touch with the world around him.

No matter what you celebrate, here’s to sharing traditions and belief with our children during this magical time of year.

Little by Little,

PS – Join me on Goodreads, share your favorite holiday stories, if you’re like me as a parent you’re always looking for new fun stories!
