213 books arrive in their new home, awaiting new friends

January 25, 2011

Just recently we sent two boxes of our “Books by the Boxful” books to our new partner school in Michigan, outside Detroit. A school, like many others, in need of a school library. The books we sent will help give them a a little start. A variety of books to help promote literacy from early stories like Goodnight Moon and all manner of Curious George and Berenstein Bears to giving older kiddos something fun like Harry Potter and Junie B Jones.

I just got word tonight from our contact there who was ecstatic, “What a blessing!”…how wonderful is that?! Together, with your help, we get to do stuff like this every day. It is so fun! These books were headed for recycling, now they are headed for new homes.

Every night when I sit down with my busy little toddler to read a bedtime story (or 12) I imagine this same scene in many other homes. It is fun to think that our books, Courtney’s books, might be getting this same kind of attention.

Little by little,

Kiki
