A great way to end a week

November 8, 2010

Last week we received a wonderful donation of 12 boxes of books from our friends at Schoolhouse Supplies! We started working with Schoolhouse Supplies earlier this year. They are a great organization which solicits donations from local businesses and has a “shopping center” set up where teachers can come each month and shop for their class, for free. They do great work and their shopping center is enough to make any teacher (or fan of office supplies) salivate. They support 130 schools and have donated supplies and goods valuing $11 million.  Thank you Schoolhouse Supplies for being such a great supporter of Court’s Kids and teachers in Portland!

Donation from Schoolhouse Supplies!

The growth and development of Court’s Kids really has been an organic process in every sense of the word, every time I get to a point where I think “we’re running low, where will the next round of books come from” or “hmmm, this seems like a challenge” I turn around and am presented with a surprise, a contact, a donation…all things that help keep Court’s Kids moving forward.

Little by little,

Kiki, We’re so glad to be able to help support Court’s Kids.

I’d also like to make a shout out to all of the wonderful volunteers who help make these connections possible – our network of Pick Up Partner volunteers allow us to pick up donations throughout the area to use in our Free Store for Teachers. One of our all-star Pick Up Partner volunteers – Barb – offered to help out by dropping the boxes of books off with you last week. So it’s truly a community effort to support the these programs!

    Wishing you the best,

    Schoolhouse Supplies
