400 Books for New Little Readers

September 21, 2010

A few weeks ago we donated 400 books to our new partners at Educational Opportunities for Children and Families in Vancouver, WA. EOCF operates several comprehensive early childhood education and family support programs serving over 2,000 children and families in the area. EOCF’s programs provide low-income children and their families with the opportunity to learn and and grow on their paths to self-sufficiency. Providing children with special needs the literacy tools they need is what Court’s Kids is all about.

Phoebe Krueger, Community Partnership & Resource Development Manager for EOCF said, “The books donated by Court’s Kids will be distributed to hundreds of low-income families served by EOCF.  Without donated books, many of these families would not have the resources necessary to build a home library.  It’s exciting to think that these books could be the catalyst in inspiring children to love reading!”

The programs EOCF operates include, Head Start, Early Head Start, Early Childhood Education and Infant Toddler Early Education which are the same sorts of programs Courtney used to work for. The kind of work done in these programs help provide children with tools to succeed. We are so excited to partner with EOCF and help provide little learners with books and tools to build home libraries and set them on a path of literacy and success in school.

Little by little,
