Donation for Marysville

December 4, 2009

Yesterday afternoon I had the great pleasure of visiting Schoolhouse Supplies to drop off our donation for the Marysville school. Schoolhouse Supplies is a wonderful organization which gathers donations from local businesses and has a great “store” where teachers can shop for much needed supplies for their classrooms. They have everything from pens and pencils and paper to really fun incentive items like Blazer t-shirts for their students. To learn more visit here they do great work supporting Portland area schools.

When I arrived there were dozens of volunteers sorting donated items to stock the store, it was a fun and vibrant atmosphere and I was excited to to drop our books there. Soon they will be distributed to the Marysville school. I’m hoping to get us connected up with the staff there so we can work more closely with their special education program throughout the year as they get settled in a more permanent school home.

What 1,800 Children's Books Looks Like

We dropped off 1800 books, it was a great day. Thank you Schoolhouse Supplies and a very special thank you to River City Books for helping us source the books we need to support our program. More soon as the books get distributed and we work more with Marysville. Next up…a donation box for the Hazel Dell special education program will go out tomorrow. Stay tuned!
